Hm

From a KOOPlist post:

I know that we noticed in the past survey the preference of what it seem to be the most of hispanic people voting for more time of music. Music can be amazing when heals wounds of people, but terrible if its used to stupefy their consciousness. And I have a question here: Isn't one of the mission of KOOP to make emphasis on those communities that are ignored by giving them a voice? Shouldn't we offer an alternative radio? Why do we have to imitate the mainstream media?

This is along the lines of what I've been wondering, whether there is any tension between providing musical programming vs. news & public affairs programming. Is the musical programming that KOOP has offer reflective of the wants and needs of underserved communities?
